Images are updated every 20 minutes

The project, supported by the Banca Popolare di Sondrio, allows real-time observation of the meteorological and snow conditions of the pass, even when it is closed during the winter (from November to May).

The realization of the project was not simple: temperatures that in the winter can reach minus 40 °C, with winds stronger than 180 km/hour and heavy snowfalls, put the equipment to the test every year. To deal with such severe environmental conditions, special “armored” cameras have been installed that, in case of breakdown, allow technicians to intervene remotely.
